Gen Secy of Himalayan Motorsport 

Atul is a Civil engineer by profession and works with the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board. An expert in tunnel design for hydel projects he is on deputation to Bhutan with the Tala Hydel Project there. He has been involved in motorsport since 1983 and has participated in all the Himalayan Rallies. Placed mostly in the top ten he was an ace navigator to Jagwant Gill.

Area of specialization on the Raid 

Atul is an expert on radio mapping, route mapping and survey and has amazing organisational skills. His approach is quiet and low key but the results never are. Superb attention to detail, a great understanding of human nature make him an effective man manager.

Has been the COC of the first Reliability Trial in 2003 and credit is due to him for its faultless running. 

Expert at  VHF radio installation and trouble shooting due to his engineering background, Atul's capacity to do a radio map is unnatural. Testimony to this gift is a radio map from Shimla to Kargil which is faultless.
