| TERRAIN |
This stage is run over a continuously winding road up to Chattru. Most of the turns are very sharp in nature and require utmost caution. The surface is all dirt (but for the first 6 kms) and rough. The drops up to Chattru are huge.
From Chattru to Pagal Nalla there are long straights leading into a series of corners and/or other extreme hazards. The track goes through rocky terrain for most part and the stage gets progressively rougher.
The road from Pagal Nalla till about 5 kms before Batal is narrow, twisting and rough.
From Batal you climb up to Kunzum Pass through a series of hairpin bends and then descend to Takcha. The downhill stretch has some very sharp bends a few of which are very deceptive. They tighten and are narrow and can catch the best drivers out. Please exercise due caution while negotiating the downhill section from Kunzum Pass to Takcha.
From Takcha to Losar the terrain is dusty and has a few nallas that are fed by the snow melt. They should be dry but rough at this time of the year.
All in all it is a great stage. To negotiate it well and fast, care and caution is needed. Drive diligently!! |
