Vehicle Preparation
Insurances Rally Insurance for Vehicle Yes, you will have to obtain a special insurance cover for using your vehicle in the Raid. This is called a Rally Insurance and is for the vehicle you plan to use for the event. It is valid for the days of the Raid. and you can easily get it from your Insurance agent. Personal Accident Policy The policy should be covering the participant
for a minimum amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- and is a must. This policy should
also be easily available from your Insurance agent and should mention it
is for the purpose of the Raid. This policy should cost not more than a
few hundred rupees. Mediclaim cards will also do as long as the cover is
for more than 2 lakhs min.
Last year Medevac Insurance was provided to each member of the Adventure Trial @ approx. 1500/- per person. It is compulsory and we think that the rates should not be far different for this year either. Competition Licenses For 4 wheelers you require ; a) An individual entrant license : b) A Race /Rally license for driver and co driver: First driver has to take both an entrants as well as a Rally License. For the forms and exact rates as applicable to you click here. Fuel and Spares The rally will be around 2500 kms . Fuel can be calculated based on the averages your vehicle is giving. It will give only 50 percent of that while on the Raid. Spares requirement is not at all heavy. Carry just the basics or those you know your car consumes. If you start with a well serviced machine nothing really goes wrong unless you crash it! Just remember our mechanics at the night halt service provide the labour....spares have to be those carried on board your car or bought locally at the night halt. So dont depend on the HMA Service Team for parts. That in a nutshell is it. Keep a small budget for contingency and you're on! That
